As a kid, Rob Holmes '92 delivered papers and
shoveled driveways. But while his friends saved up to buy
Star Wars action figures and Big League Chew, Rob opted out
of the plastic Princess Leah and instead banked his money.
During his junior year at Hobart, while he was busy studying
wildlife management in Kenya, that money continued to accrue.
By the time he graduated with a degree in environmental science
and biology, he had saved enough to purchase a car and pay
for a 12-month trip around the world

This Web-based company was co-founded in the fall of 1999
by the former Wellesley resident and Wellesley High School
graduate Rob Holmes. Based in Seattle, Washington, Trails.com
is a Web site designed to help its visitors plan their weekend
activities and vacation adventures
