ARTIST BIO
Rob Holmes, Photojournalist
Rob has a unique and diverse background in photojournalism, conservation, and business.
Photojournalism: Rob is a well-known freelance photojournalist and adventure traveler based in Los Angeles. While his photography focuses on social, environmental, and sustainability projects, his style is to capture ‘behind-the-scenes’ images of daily community life in developing countries. A popular guest lecturer, Rob has given over 50 lectures, had 40 photo exhibitions, and has 15 press placements in newspapers, magazines, and websites to his credit.
Conservation: Rob has also worked and consulted with over 20 leading nonprofit organizations, including The Nature Conservancy, International Snow Leopard Trust, Woodland Park Zoo, and The Tibetan Nuns Project. His area of expertise with these organizations and others has been strategy, marketing, sales, and business development.
Business: Rob has been a creative and hardworking entrepreneur all his life. Rob is one of the original owners of Trails.com (www.trails.com) – the successful Internet-based outdoor and adventure travel company. Author of the original business plan, Rob managed all marketing, public relations, sales, and business development for the entire company.
Rob received his BS in Environmental Biology and Wildlife Management from Hobart College in 1992 and MBA in International Business, Environmental Management, and Marketing from the University of Washington in 1999.
